A jury found appellant Ramon Garza, Jr., guilty of the second-degree felony offense of possessing a controlled substance (namely methamphetamine) in an amount of four grams or more but less than 200 grams. See Tex. Health & Safety Code Ann. § 481.102(6) (West Supp.2007), § 481.115(a), (d) (West 2003). The jury assessed punishment at seventeen years’ in prison and a $10,000 fine.
