FOREMAN, Chief Judge:

Before the Court is a Motion for Judgment on the Pleadings or Summary Judgment by defendant Glendale Optical Company.

The key issue is whether or not plaintiff sustained a traumatic injury so that his claim would be barred by the applicable statutes of limitations. The facts alleged are as follows: On or about May 17, 1977, in the course of plaintiff’s employment as a welder, a piece of hot slag flew from an iron object which plaintiff was cutting with a torch.
