The petitioners were trustees of Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist, a religious corporation. Before their terms of office had expired, the members of the corporation, at a regular corporate meeting, passed a resolution purporting to remove the petitioners from office for a cause stated. The three individual appellants were thereupon appointed, by the remaining members of the board of trustees, to fill the vacancies thus created.
