*' ACTIONS of Quo Warranto for the offices of County Clerk and Register of Deeds of Wood County. The case of The State ex rel. Wood v. Baker was commenced in this court, by summons and complaint, upon leave granted, January 12, 1875. The complaint avers, among other things, that at the general election in 1874, the relator and defendant were the only candidates for the office of county clerk in said county, and that the relator received 662 votes, and the defendant 595, giving the former a majority of 67 votes; that the inspectors of elections in the several towns and wards duly canvassed and…

I. Our views of the original jurisdiction of this court, and of the cases for the proper exercise of it, in Att'y Gen’l v. Eau Claire, 37 Wis., 400, were carefully considered and deliberately expressed ; and we adhere to them to their full extent. It was there said :
