Plaintiff, Harry G. Bourne, was confronted, as he was entering his *204automobile, by carjackers who were seated in the rear seat of the vehicle. He was forced at gunpoint to drive away. After driving a mile, he was ordered to stop and leave the vehicle. One of the carjackers struck him in the face, he fell to the ground, and was injured. The carjackers took his car keys and wallet, and drove away in his automobile.
