This libel was brought by David Earl Jordan against the respondent, Norfolk Dredging Company, for maintenance and cure allegedly due him as a result of injury to his back sustained while working as a deckhand on respondent’s tug the John T. Gibbs. Although many of the facts involved in this case were hotly contested by the parties, the court finds them to be as follows:
