Statement of the Case.

NICHOLLS, C. J.

Plaintiff alleged that she was the owner of a certain described plantation in the parish of Natchitoches, which she bought in her paraphernal right from J. A. Prudhomme et al. on the 21st of November, 1897.

That in the fall of 1898 her husband, J. R. Voiers, being indebted to Atkins Bros., a mercantile firm composed of John B. Atkins and James W. Atkins, to the extent of about $7,000 or more, the said Atkins Bros., for the fraudulent purpose of collecting said debt from petitioner, persuaded her said husband to agree that he would procure petitioner to>…
