The plaintiffs originally filed their complaint in this Court to enforce a property insurance contract issued by the defendant following the destruction by fire of certain commercial properties. The principal dispute involved the amount of the loss, and it was eventually resolved through an appraisal process prescribed by the insurance policy and Michigan law.
