Upon the 23d day of October, 1896, Miss Eckford, of Aberdeen, Miss., who was the owner of two hundred and forty acres of land in Monroe county, Miss., conveyed the same to George F. Cleaver for a consideration of $3,960, $825 of which was paid in cash and the balance evidenced by the four promissory notes of the grantee, due December 20, 1897, 1898, 1899, and 1900, respectively, hearing interest at the rate of eight per cent per annum from their date; the notes being secured by a deed of trust covering the land conveyed, in which…
