This is a medical malpractice action brought to recover damages caused by the alleged negligence of a nurse who cared for the plaintiff while she was a patient at the University of Chicago Hospitals, the defendant in this case. This appeal arises out of an order entered by the circuit court granting summary judgment in favor of defendant. The trial court’s decision was based upon plaintiffs failure to obtain expert testimony regarding the applicable standard of care and whether it was breached by the defendant.
