For the reasons explained in the majority opinion, I agree that the police in this case lacked probable cause to arrest appellant for possession of a prohibited weapon.1 Whether they had probable cause to arrest him for carrying a dangerous weapon is a much closer question2 in my judg*368ment (and I likely would not have written in dissent if that had been the only issue).
