At ór about 3:30 a.m. on March 4,1945, claimant, Alfred F. Laitenberger, was driving bis automobile in a general westerly direction on New York State Highway No. 100, also known as Route No. 104, also known as Ridge Road East, and particularly on that part thereof which runs through the Town of Webster, Monroe County, New York, and which is located about 100 feet west of the intersection of said Ridge Road East with another highway known as the Five Mile Line' Road in said town.
