This case came before the Supreme Court following the entry of a summary judgment in favor of the plaintiff, Michelle McKinnon (McKinnon). McKinnon filed a complaint in Superior Court, alleging that the defendants, Rhode Island Hospital Trust National Bank (Hospital Trust or bank) and its agent Shawn Buckless (Buckless), had wrongfully transferred two state agency bonds held in a Hospital Trust funds management account in the names of McKinnon and her father.
