I concur in the main opinion. I write separately to offer three observations.

First, the language of § 12-15-114, Ala. Code 1975, adopted by the legislature in the 2008 amendments to the Alabama Juvenile Justice Act affirmatively recognizes jurisdiction in the juvenile courts in depen*195dency cases and two other categories of cases; it does not expressly limit the jurisdiction of juvenile courts to those categories.
