FRANCHINI, Justice.
{1} Northern Rio Arriba Electric Cooperative, Inc. (NORA) appeals from a jury verdict granting damages to Frank and Lorraine Trujillo. Frank Trujillo had pursued a discrimination claim against NORA under the New Mexico Human Rights Act, NMSA 1978, §§ 28-1-1 to -15 (1969, as amended through 1993, prior to 1995, 2000, & 2001 amendments), alleging that NORA discriminated against him because of a medical condition when they fired him.
