Felix Carantini Rivera appeals from the district court’s denial of his motion for a new trial1 after the jury returned a verdict in favor of appellee Jennifer Rutter finding Rivera hable in negligence for damages arising out of an automobile accident on August 12, 1998. Rivera argues that Rutter is precluded from seeking damages for lost wages in her negligence action by an earlier workers’ compensation decision that denied her benefits for this accident.
