This ease stems from a boating accident on the Tennessee River near Chattanooga involving the application of federal maritime law. Charles and Joan Dodd (hereafter “plaintiffs”) filed suit in the Circuit Court of Hamilton County against Mark Varady (hereafter “defendant”) for damages resulting from personal injuries, medical expenses and loss of consortium sustained by them in a boating accident on Lake Chickamauga.
