The State of Illinois in early 1973 brought an action for breach of contract against several architects and contractors, including Curtis & Davis, Incorporated (hereafter C & D, Inc.), the only appellant here. The contract was entered into in the spring of 1966 between the Illinois Building Authority (hereafter IBA) and joint venturers, Curtis & Davis Partnership (hereafter C & D Partnership) and Samuel E.
