Wilbur J. Daigle (defendant) was charged by grand jury indictment with forgery and conspiracy to commit forgery, La. R.S. 14:72 and 14:26, as well as filing false public records and conspiracy to file false public records, La. R.S. 14:133 and 14:26. He pleaded not guilty and, after trial by jury, was found guilty as charged on all counts. He was sentenced to three years at hard labor each on the counts of forgery and filing false public records and two years at hard labor on each of the two counts of conspiracy, with credit for time served.
