Defendant, an inmate of Great Meadow Correctional Facility in Washington County, was indicted for the crimes of attempted murder in the second degree, assault in the first degree, assault in the second degree (two counts) and promoting prison contraband in the first degree. The indictment arose from defendant’s attack on another inmate named Leonard Brown. The testimony regarding the incident was sharply contested.
