Plaintiff commenced this action to recover damages for personal injuries allegedly sustained as a result of an automobile accident which occurred on November 23, 1981. At the time of the accident, plaintiff’s vehicle was stopped at a traffic light in the City of Amsterdam, Montgomery County, when it was struck from behind by a vehicle owned by defendant Joseph Pakenas and operated by defendant Joseph Purtell.
