This appeal brings into sharp focus the conflict between private property rights and the right of municipal government to control the owner’s use of property. The particular question is the extent to which an owner has freedom to the use of his property after the adoption of a zoning ordinance which results in the use not being in conformity with uses permitted in the area in which it is located.
