In 1986, Carl Lee Thompson, Tim Parkes, and Mark Mourier agreed to enter into a venture to manufacture automobile floor-mats in Tennessee. Each contributed approximately equal capital, and received a third of the shares of the resulting corporation, Remington Industries, Inc. (Remington).
