Louisiana Onshore Properties, Inc. (LOPI) filed suit against Manti Resources, Inc. (Manti) on February 19, 1999, seeking injunctive and declaratory relief to force Manti to turn over the operation of certain oil wells that Manti operated under a joint-participation agreement with three other companies. LOPI claimed that it had been assigned the operator rights of one of the companies to the joint participation agreement.
