Plaintiff asks that we either create or recognize a new tort based ón the violation of a federal statute. She alleges that defendant intentionally gave the United States Forest Service false information concerning the death of her husband, in violation of 18 USC § 1001 (section 1001),1 and that, as a result, she lost her right to receive federal workers’ compensation benefits as a surviving spouse.
