Sloan v. Astrue

Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit

Decided August 22, 2007No. 06-3448PublishedCited by 50 opinions

1Opinion of the Court

BYE, Circuit Judge.

Donna Sloan appeals the district court’s judgment affirming the decision of the Commissioner of the Social Security Administration (SSA) denying her application for disability insurance benefits under Title II of the Social Security Act. See 42 U.S.C. § 1383(c)(3). A new SSA ruling clarifies the extent to which the agency should consider medical opinions from sources other than those deemed “acceptable medical sources.” The SSA must determine whether the new ruling affects its decision in this case. We reverse and remand.
