MEYER, Justice.
Defendant was convicted of two counts of murder in the first degree arising out of the shooting deaths of two teen-age boys, Ricky Buchanan and Gary Bailey. The case was tried as a capital case, and consistent with the jury’s recommendation, the trial court sentenced defendant to death in both cases. In his appeal to this Court, defendant brings forward numerous assignments of error concerning both the guilt-innocence and the sentencing phases of his trial.
