Appeal from a judgment of the Supreme Court (Mercure, J.), entered January 5, 1988 in Warren County, which, inter alia, granted petitioners’ application, in a proceeding pursuant to CPLR article 78, to compel respondents to conduct a special election regarding the establishment of a public park.
