Emanuel A. Respres was tried before a jury and found guilty of kidnapping with bodily injury, aggravated assault, false imprisonment, and two counts of possession of a knife during the commission of a crime. At sentencing, the trial court merged the aggravated assault, the false imprisonment, and one count of possession of a knife during the commission of a crime into the kidnapping with bodily injury.
