Anthony Sampson appeals his convictions and sentences for second-degree murder, armed robbery and grand theft.

Sampson was charged by information with second-degree murder with a deadly weapon, burglary, robbery with a deadly weapon, and grand theft of a vehicle. Sampson acknowledged that he took valuables from the victim’s home and stole the victim’s car. However, Sampson’s defense at trial was that he was guilty only of the lesser included charges of manslaughter (rather than second-degree murder) and theft (rather than robbery).
