Appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the Supreme Court, Kings County (Dowling J.), rendered October 26, 2005, convicting him of assault in the first degree, upon a jury verdict, and imposing sentence.

Ordered that the judgment is affirmed.

Prior to jury selection, the prosecutor made a motion in limine to preclude defense counsel from cross-examining certain *831witnesses as to their immigration status.
