On May 27, 1969, the defendant, on a plea of guilty, was found guilty of the crime of tampering with a motor vehicle, a misdemeanor (General Statutes § 1-1), in violation of § 14-145 of the General Statutes.1 He was sentenced to pay a fine of $35. The fine was fully and immediately paid.
