OPINION
COLLINS, Judge:
These are three separate suits brought by former customs inspectors of the United States Customs Service, alleging illegal suspension and discharge from the Customs Service, based upon violation of their rights under the Veterans’ Preference Act. 1 Recovery is sought for back pay from the time of their suspension. The actions were consolidated by order of this court under former Rule 38 (a) (now Rule 47(a)).
