The appellant, the Security Trust Company, filed its bill of complaint in the superior court of Cook county, praying for the cancellation of two policies of insurance on the life of William C. Cummings, one for $3000 and the other for $2000, payable to his sister, the appellee, Mary Tarpey. William C. Cummings answered the original bill and Mary Tarpey demurred to it, but Cummings died leaving Mary Tarpey sole defendant, and the bill was amended accordingly.
