We must decide whether an immigration judge properly required corroborating evidence from an otherwise credible witness in an asylum hearing.

Nirmal Singh is an Indian citizen and former resident of that nation’s Punjab state. Singh maintains that as a result of his political activities and affiliation, he was arrested and tortured on four occasions.
