Defendant insurance company appeals as of right from a judgment of the Wayne County Circuit Court confirming an arbitration award in the amount of $60,000. The plaintiff suffered personal injuries as a result of a motor vehicle-motorcycle accident some time prior to September 28, 1973. Unable to reach a settlement with the defendant, the plaintiff on that date filed a demand for arbitration, pursuant to the contract of insurance between the parties; and on July 18, 1974, a three-member panel of the American Arbitration Association awarded the plaintiff $60,000.
