LAMBERT, Cheif Justice.

This Court granted discretionary review (CR 76.20) to decide whether an individual’s duty to report suspected child abuse to state authorities pursuant to KRS 620.030 is discharged by reporting the suspected abuse to supervisory personnel. Resolution of this issue turns on the proper interpretation of KRS 620.030(1), and specifically on the relationship, if any, between the statutory provision which defines an individual’s reporting duty and the provision which defines the supervisor’s duty.
