—In an action to recover damages for personal injuries, the defendant appeals from (1) an order of the Supreme Court, Kings County (Garry, J.), dated August 16, 1999, which denied his motion to vacate an order of the same court, dated December 1, 1997, granting the plaintiff's motion for leave to enter judgment against him upon his default in answering the complaint, and for leave to interpose a late answer, and (2) an amended judgment of the same court entered June 14, 2000, which is in favor of the plaintiff and against him in the principal sum of $135,000.
