This was an action of ejectment, brought by Edward S. Carter on the 10th of August, 1893, against William P. Hammond and others, to recover the south-west quarter of section 8, township 3, north, range 9, west, in Hancock county. At the October term, 1893, of the Hancock circuit court a.trial was had before the court, without a jury, resulting in a judgment for the plaintiff, to reverse which the defendant Hammond appealed to this court, filing his bond December 23, 1893.
