THOMPSON, Judge.

On March 28, 2002, Samuel Raviv sued Hanover Insurance Company (“Hanover”), Geico General Insurance Company (“Gei-co”), and Family Car Center, Inc., in the Jefferson Circuit Court (“the trial court”), alleging a breach-of-contract claim against all of the defendants and a bad-faith failure-to-pay-insurance-proceeds claim against Hanover; Family Car Center was dismissed as a defendant, and Raviv settled his claim against Geico.
