We granted review in this case to determine: (1) whether our state felony forgery statute covers the forgery of a Social Secu*304rity card1 and (2) whether a jury must be instructed that in the definition of the felony forgery offense, the term “instrument” means “negotiable instrument.” We answer the first question in the affirmative and the second question in the negative.
