On September 25, 1958, the defendant, Claude “Pee Wee” Williams, was indicted by a Cook County grand jury for the unlawful possession and sale of a narcotic drug to Inez Anderson, a Chicago police officer, who was working in conjunction with the Federal Bureau of Narcotics. On January 27, i960, the defendant was found guilty following a bench trial in the circuit court of Cook County and sentenced to life imprisonment.
