OPINION
KELLEHER, Justice.
Many who read the title of this litigation will surmise that this is another case involving a dispute over an arbitrator’s award, and they will be correct. This controversy is before us after a Superior Court justice denied the union’s motion to confirm an arbitrator’s award and granted the state’s motion to vacate the award. We reverse.
The factual aspects of this dispute which are set forth in the award 1 indicate that a union member, Walter Spiry, worked for six years as a civilian employee in the Control Service Unit of the Division of State Police (division). He…
