While attending an industrial arts class at a junior high school in Las Vegas, Nevada, on May 9, 1967, Steven Kaminski, one of the appellants, suffered injuries when a bowl, which was being turned, on a lathe, broke away from the lathe and struck him. At the time of the injury the instructor in charge *669of the class was Melvin Bergman. Bergman’s immediate superiors in the school system were informed of the accident shortly after it happened.
