This cause comes before the Court on consideration of Defendant’s Motion for Summary Judgment (Doc. 65) and Plaintiffs Opposition thereto (Doc. 89).
I. Background
Plaintiff, Larry Wayne Lawrence, began working at the Port Orange supercenter location of Defendant Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (“Wal-Mart”) between May 15-17, 1999 (Pl.’s Depo. at 72). At that location, Plaintiff was the only African-American management-level employee. As assistant manager, Plaintiff was assigned to oversee Area A and later Area D.
