This case is before us on a petition for review of the decision of the Court of Appeal. It focuses on a defendant’s waiver of the right to counsel and the right of a pro se defendant to be represented at a sentence modification hearing when the State appears in opposition to the motion.

Stephen L. Buckland, the defendant who represented himself at trial, was convicted of one count of selling cocaine.
