The Donnell Manufacturing Company, appellant, vendor of grocers’ and druggists’ specialties, having its headquarters at St. Louis, Missouri, and doing business in many States, among them the State of Illinois, employed Oliver C. Fitts, in July, 1888, to sell its goods on commission and to collect its accounts in Southern Illinois. Before the contract of employment was made, Fitts was required to give bond for the faithful performance of certain obligations.
