Defendant pled guilty to armed robbery, MCLA 750.529; MSA 28.797, and assault with intent to commit rape, MCLA 750.85; MSA 28.280. He was sentenced to terms of from 20 to 40 years for the armed robbery and from 6 to 10 years for the assault. Defendant appealed as of right from the denial of his motion to withdraw his pleas. We remanded this case to the circuit court for an evidentiary hearing in order to determine if the trial judge made a statement that could have been fairly interpreted by the defendant to be a promise of leniency that went unfulfilled.
