WIEAND, Judge:

On October 14, 1984, John Mark Rodland made application to Metropolitan Property and Liability Insurance Company (Metropolitan) for a policy of automobile insurance. In connection therewith, he certified that his answers to questions were true and correct and paid a premium for the quarterly period from October 15, 1984 to January 15, 1985. Approximately a month later, Metropolitan sent Rodland notice of cancellation, effective December 9, 1984, and included a check in the amount of $58.50, which represented a pro rata refund of the quarterly premium.
