Appellant Riley Dobi Noel was convicted of three counts of capital murder and one count of attempted capital murder following an eleven-day trial. He was sentenced to death on the capital murder convictions and to sixty years on the attempted capital murder conviction. The killings occurred in Little Rock at the home of the victims’ mother, Mary Hussian, on the evening of June 4, 1995. Her three children (Malak Hussian, age 10; Mustafa Hussian, age 12; and Marcel Young, age 17) were shot by Noel in the head as they lay on the floor in the front room of her house. The…
